With the DeWalt Rapid Load, you just push the bit in as it is spring-loaded. The drill bits are decent. To insert a bit into the Makita Ultralok, you have to pull the collar back and insert the bit--a two-handed operation. I would give this 1 star, but most of the hex shank holders work the way the Makita does, and the Makita is of good quality.
The bits fit into the drill wonderfully and changing them is easy and goes qiuckly. This was a great investment. I purchased the Makita 784873-A 7-Piece UltraLok Set for my husband who owns the Makita 6233DWBLE 3/8" drill. The 7 different bit sizes are great for the many tasks that you can do with this drill.
